Toppers Rug

From our Nantucket Collection. Named for Topper's at The Wauwinet, the celebrated restaurant at the head of the harbor, where diners watch the sun set over the bay. The restaurant itself takes its name from a much-loved Welsh terrier, and Wauwinet is a Wampanoag name from the island's first people.

The Toppers Rug
Hand-knotted in Turkey from pure wool, this piece is woven with a special technique that gives it the gentle, time-softened character of an antique. Its classic garden design of flowering vines and palmettes feels as relaxed and welcoming as a summer evening on a bayside deck.

Colors in Detail
The field is the soft blue-green of sea glass tumbled at the water's edge. Across it, blossoms bloom in brick red, coral, and dusty rose, mingling with sprays of olive and moss, warm camel, and shell ivory, with slate blue accents like shadows on the harbor. A wide ivory border scattered with pale aqua and garden-colored flowers frames the design, finished with a narrow band of weathered slate gray.
