A Journey Inspired by the Sea

My story in retail began at sixteen, when I first discovered the joy of connecting people with beautiful, meaningful objects. From the handwoven textures of global imports to the clean lines of surfboards, I was immersed in a world of craftsmanship, design, and ever-evolving customer stories. I didn’t know it then, but those early years sparked a lifelong passion for aesthetics, storytelling, and intentional curation.

Growing up in a coastal town in Virginia, I developed a lasting bond with the ocean: one that has shaped my life and my work ever since. Summers in timeless Nantucket, an instant connection with the magic of Carmel-by-the-Sea, and the easy warmth of Cabo all deepened that connection. Each place brought its own rhythm, spirit, and palette, and each left its mark on my coastal sensibility.

In 2002, I followed that passion west to San Francisco and opened KRIMSA Fine Rugs & Decor. What started as a business quickly evolved into a creative expression of everything I love: travel, interiors, culture, and craft. With the help of a talented team, we grew KRIMSA into a nationally recognized destination for fine rugs and soulful design.

Then, in 2020, the world paused, and so did I. In that stillness, I returned to the ocean and found grounding in its familiar rhythm. It brought me clarity. And in that clarity, Sea & Nest was born.

Rooted in years of coastal inspiration and a deep love for handmade design, Sea & Nest is a curated collection of artwork and decor that reflects the ease and beauty of life by the sea. Each piece is selected with care, evoking natural textures, muted tones, and the sense of calm that only the ocean can bring. It’s a tribute to the places that shaped me and the feeling of home they evoke.

From artisan rugs to modern coastal decor, my journey has always been about honoring craft, telling stories through design, and creating spaces that feel both timeless and personal.
