Surfside Rug

From our Nantucket Collection. Named for Surfside, the wide, sandy beach on the island's south shore, where Atlantic waves roll in one after another and summer days stretch long under an open sky.

The Surfside Rug
Hand-knotted in Nepal by skilled Tibetan weavers from a blend of 80% wool and 20% silk, this piece takes a classic design of mirrored medallions and flowering scrolls and lets it dissolve into soft, painterly washes, like a pattern seen through moving water. The silk adds a luminous sheen that shifts with the light, making it as striking as it is soft underfoot.

Colors in Detail
Layers of soft blue-gray, periwinkle, and denim wash across the surface like waves breaking on the shore, with drifts of ivory like sea foam and deeper touches of navy. Through them, floral shapes emerge in golden ochre, bronze, and olive, warmed by coral and rust like beach roses and a late summer sunset. The silk gives each color a gentle glow, so the whole design seems to shimmer.

This design can be made to order in standard sizes 2′×3′, 6′×9′, 8′×10′, 9′×12′, and 10′×14′, or in a custom size made just for your space. Its colors are consistent from rug to rug, so your piece will carry the same palette shown here.
