Polpis Rug
Polpis Rug
From our Nantucket Collection. Named for Polpis, a Wampanoag name from the island's first people, and the quiet harbor and winding road on Nantucket's eastern side, where the moors and salt marsh meet the water.
The Polpis Rug
Hand-knotted in India from 100% wool, this generously sized rug has a refined low pile and a traditional design softened into something beautifully timeworn. Palmettes and vines fade in and out across the field, framed by slim borders, like an heirloom that has spent a century in an island farmhouse.
Colors in Detail
Heathered gray, sand and warm beige form a soft, layered foundation, the natural tones of the wool shifting gently across the surface. Charcoal outlines the motifs, while touches of golden yellow glow like late light over the marsh, balanced by faint hints of faded blue.
