Hulbert Rug
Hulbert Rug
From our Nantucket Collection. Named for Hulbert Avenue, which follows the harbor's edge out toward Brant Point, where sailboats glide past the jetties and the ferries round the lighthouse on their way into town.
The Hulbert Rug
Hand-knotted in Pakistan from pure wool, this piece carries a classic all-over design of palmettes, rosettes, and leafy vines that flows edge to edge like light on moving water. The softly mottled tones give it a gently time-worn look, relaxed enough for a beach house yet refined enough for a formal room.
Colors in Detail
Slate and harbor blues mingle with sea-grass green, soft olive, and storm gray across the field, like the water off Brant Point on a changing day. Palmettes open in shell ivory and warm sand, shaded with walnut and driftwood brown. The border is traced with an ivory and taupe zigzag, like waves breaking along the jetty, set off by a stripe of sage and a fine line of blue.
